Service Technician (Air compressors) - Sioux Falls, SD

Salary: $50,000 - $85,000 (Depending on experience)

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

FLSA Status: Non exempt

Overview:

The main duties of the Service Technician involve delivering assistance to customers of the business through vehicle repairs, equipment maintenance, refurbishment, and rebuilding. It is essential for the Service Technician to consistently display a constructive and efficient demeanor when interacting with all customers, colleagues, and suppliers at the business.

Responsibilities:

• • Coordinate the collaborative efforts of the businesses Sales and Service team to deliver diagnostic, maintenance, repair, and technical support across a spectrum of electrical, mechanical, and compressed air applications.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of compressed air systems and provide recommendations for potential upgrades.
  • Offer servicing and repairs for both on-road and off-road equipment, as well as fluid power and industrial compressed air systems as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of supplier and forms, documents, and procedures, ensuring the accurate maintenance of repair records and proper execution of service tasks.
  • Demonstrate a firm commitment to safety guidelines, adhering to these principles in all actions and communications, as outlined in the safety handbook and related procedures.
  • Participate in product and technical training for customers and personnel, particularly focusing on compressed air products.
  • Attend mandatory training programs on various aspects, including products, factory-sponsored sales and service training, service protocols, self-development, and safety training offered through the business.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to all customer inquiries, maintaining a positive and customer-centric approach.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to meet and exceed customer expectations, including joint customer visits, all while aligning with corporate objectives and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to achieving productivity and sales goals.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of standard products, allowing for a basic response to initial sales inquiries.
  • Maintain open communication with the service manager regarding tool, equipment, and inventory needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by being available for overtime, travel, and occasional on-call shifts.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, showcasing strong multitasking abilities.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to enhance safety and expedite project completion.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming team environment by collaborating with colleagues.
  • Execute any additional responsibilities assigned by Senior Management.
  • Expected travel time (40%)

Preferred experience:

• Vacuums (Preferred)
• Air Compressors (Preferred)
• Hydraulics, motors, valves, cylinders or experienced in a similar field.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficient in advanced troubleshooting, repair, and installation of hydraulic, compressed air, and mechanical systems.
• Skilled in fundamental hydraulic plumbing, welding, and mechanical fabrication.
• Capable of comprehending and interpreting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical drawings and schematics
• Adaptable to operating lathes, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and similar machinery.
• Demonstrates a professional demeanor, excels in delivering top-notch customer service, possesses a strong self-driven work ethic, maintains a high level of integrity and ethical standards, exhibits exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), has basic computer proficiency or the ability to acquire it for record-keeping purposes, maintains a clean driving record, can handle routine lifting of up to 75 lbs and consistently engages arms and legs with a full range of motion.
• Frequently engages in stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling, and applies push and pull forces as needed.
