What you will be doing:

  • Take ownership of optical functions in the product development of opto-mechatronic systems, focusing on illumination and imaging systems in microscopy and fluorescence measurement technology.
  • Act as a technical expert in client meetings and workshops throughout all project stages, providing support for project planning.
  • Establish direct communication with clients to help define technical requirements for products and projects.
  • Lead the development of optical systems from concept to prototype and eventual mass production, leveraging state-of-the-art development tools and a well-equipped laboratory.
  • Create technical documentation during the development phase to guide procurement and production processes.
  • Provide leadership to interdisciplinary and international development teams, collaborating closely with suppliers and external partners.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of platform technologies.

Your ideal profile:

  • Hold a degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences, preferably with a master's or doctorate, and specialized knowledge in technical optics.
  • Possess several years of experience in designing and industrializing technical optical systems.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of optical detectors and light sources, particularly LEDs, Lasers, and optical detectors.
  • Proficient in Zemax and data analysis tools such as Python or Matlab.
  • Familiarity with requirements engineering, agile project management, and lean methodologies; experience with design thinking is advantageous.
  • Previous involvement in the development of medical devices or IVD products to ISO13485 standards, or experience in the field of biochemistry for clinical diagnostics, would be advantageous.
  • Openness to occasional travel, up to 10% of the time.
