Job Title: BMS Design Engineer

Engagement Type: Contract / Independent Contractor (1099 or Temporary W2)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced BMS Design Engineer to support commercial projects on a contract basis. You will develop and deliver Building Management System designs, including control strategies, schematics, and sequences of operation, ensuring systems meet client requirements and industry standards. This is a technical, design-focused role requiring attention to detail and strong collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce BMS design drawings, control strategies, and sequences of operation

  • Review and validate system designs for accuracy and compliance

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and project teams

  • Support commissioning and handover with design guidance

  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, standards, and best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing BMS projects (Niagara/Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Trend)

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and building systems

  • Ability to produce accurate, detailed design documentation

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a project team

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred

  • Relevant certifications (BACnet, MODBUS, Niagara) a plus
