Project Manager - Civil / Site Engineering (New Jersey)
An established, multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead civil/site and land development projects throughout New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships
- Identify new project opportunities, add-on services, and cross-disciplinary work
- Support business development efforts, including proposals, RFQs, and presentations
- Participate in go/no-go evaluations and proposal strategy, budgeting, and scheduling
- Lead project planning, including work plans, staffing, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC
- Oversee subconsultants and coordinate with internal technical and support teams
- Review contracts, manage risk, and ensure compliance with insurance and documentation requirements
- Monitor project financial performance, job costs, and billing; initiate corrective actions as needed
- Manage change orders and ensure timely invoicing and receivables
- Maintain project documentation per company policy
- Attend client meetings, public hearings, and industry events as needed
- Support continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in civil site design and land development project delivery
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting development projects through local or municipal review/approval processes
- Strong client relationship management and business development abilities
- Demonstrated success leading projects, managing budgets, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Good understanding of project risk management and dispute avoidance practices
