Darwin are working with an exciting client in South Africa. Our client is embarking on a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme as part of a multi-year initiative.
Job Title: SAP S4 Finance Project Manager
Client Location: Cape Town, South Africa (4 days on-site per week - non-negotiable)
Contract Length: 12 months / 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Freelance
Rate: Competitive
Start Date: ASAP
Project Brief: The SAP Finance Project Manager will lead the Finance workstream from a SAP perspective, working closely with senior internal stakeholders, the CFO-sponsored Finance business lead, and the System Integrator.
Must Have Skills / Experience:
- Must have worked on a major S/4HANA implementation previously
- Strong SAP Finance functional background
- Min. 5 years experience on Finance projects.
- Assertive, professional, and comfortable operating in a highly visible role
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across executive to delivery levels

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the SAP Finance workstream within a large S/4HANA programme
- Drive delivery and planning in partnership with the System Integrator
- Own and manage the integrated project schedule across internal and SI resources
- Act as the primary Finance-facing SAP project authority
- Engage confidently with C-suite stakeholders, senior finance leaders, accountants, and consultants
- Challenge legacy processes and support business-led transformation
- Ensure governance, planning, and delivery standards are maintained throughout the programme
