About the Role
We're seeking a hands-on AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) Engineer to join a fast-growing space startup building and launching next-generation small satellites. In this 12-month contract role, you'll be part of a lean, high-impact team working on satellite integration campaigns, environmental testing, and launch prep activities.
You'll be deeply involved in spacecraft hardware, functional testing, and system-level integration - directly supporting upcoming flight missions.
Key Responsibilities

Assemble and integrate spacecraft subsystems (electrical, mechanical, thermal, and avionics)

Execute test procedures for functional, environmental (vibe, thermal vacuum), and end-to-end system tests

Perform fault isolation, root cause analysis, and resolution of integration issues

Develop and document AIT procedures, test plans, and verification reports

Work closely with design, manufacturing, and mission teams to ensure flight readiness

Support launch campaign activities as needed (travel to launch site may be required)
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in satellite or aerospace integration & test (AIT) roles

Strong hands-on skills with electrical/mechanical integration and test equipment

Familiarity with cleanroom procedures and space-grade hardware

Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and ICDs

Comfortable using standard tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, torque tools, etc.)

Ability to work flexible hours or shifts during critical test or launch campaigns
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CubeSats, ESPA-class, or small satellite buses

Familiarity with spacecraft EGSE and ground support software

Thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, or EMC test experience

Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar
