Senior ServiceNow Technical Consultant

Location: Zurich (Onsite 3-4 days per week)

Languages: Fluent German (C1) & English

Employment Type: Permanent

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow Technical Consultant to join our client's team in Zurich. This role requires deep technical expertise across the ServiceNow platform, strong stakeholder engagement abilities, and the flexibility to work onsite 3-4 days per week. Fluency in German at C1 level is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HRSD, GRC, SecOps, or custom applications.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Configure, script, and customise the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, Flow Designer, UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and IntegrationHub.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and other integration technologies.
  • Conduct technical workshops, solution presentations, and demos with both German- and English-speaking stakeholders.
  • Ensure platform health, performance, and compliance with architecture and governance standards.
  • Support testing, UAT cycles, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Mentor junior developers/consultants and contribute to best-practice frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Technical Consultant, Developer, or Architect.
  • Strong expertise across core ServiceNow modules (ITSM required; ITOM, CMDB, GRC, HRSD, or SecOps a plus).
  • Proven experience with scripting (JavaScript), workflows, Flow Designer, Business Rules, UI/UX customisation, and data modelling.
  • Solid integration experience with enterprise platforms and tools (REST, SOAP, JDBC, MID Server, OAuth, SSO).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise service management principles.
  • Fluent German (C1) required and strong English communication skills.
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS modules, CTA) highly preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Zurich 3-4 days per week.

Start Date: ASAP or upon agreement.
