About the Role

They are looking for a highly motivated PLC Automation Engineer to join the team and play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our state-of-the-art automated systems. You will be responsible for the entire PLC lifecycle, from concept and design to commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across departments to understand and translate transport operations needs into robust and efficient PLC-controlled systems.
• Design, develop, implement, and commission PLC systems for various transportation applications (e.g., sorting, routing, warehousing).
• Configure, program, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) using industry-standard software (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal).
• Integrate PLC systems seamlessly with other control systems and equipment.
• Develop and implement effective troubleshooting strategies to diagnose and resolve automation system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance and lifespan of automation systems.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including PLC code, system schematics, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest PLC technologies and industry best practices specific to the transportation sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, or a related field)
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a PLC Automation Engineer in a transportation or related industry (e.g., manufacturing, logistics)
• Proven experience in designing, programming, and commissioning PLC systems for automated applications
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems and principles
• Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken)
